Breaking Up…Is Easier

Is an annual lump sum payment of your real estate taxes a drag on your wallet? “Break it up” with our installment plan! With the Installment Plan, you receive slightly over 3% discount, but you have the ease of paying smaller amounts throughout the year. Paying your taxes in full in November provides for a 4% discount. To participate in the Installment Payment Plan, the taxpayer must have more than $100 estimated taxes due and complete an Installment Payment Application available on our website at www.taxcollectorpbc.com.

The application for the Installment Payment Plan applies to next year’s taxes. The application must be received in the Tax Collector’s Office by April 30, 2010 and the first payment must be made by June 30, 2010! Failure to pay the first installment will automatically cancel the plan.

A taxpayer who elects the installment payment method pays the 1st and 2nd installments based on the previous year’s taxes. After the tax roll is certified, the 3rd and 4th installments are adjusted to reflect the actual tax liability. The payment schedule is:

1st Installment - Due by June 30, 2010
2nd Installment - Due by September 30, 2010
3rd Installment - Due by December 31, 2010
4th Installment - Due by March 31, 2011

What are you waiting for? Download an application at www.taxcollectorpbc.com or pick up one at any of our service center offices.
