During the holiday season our employees are supporting one of our charity partners, The Lord’s Place, by contributing items for the homeless rather than exchanging gifts with co-workers. Angels were placed at all service center locations during the month of November for children to color. Employees will select an angel (with specific wish list items listed on the back of the angel) and furnish the requested items.
The Lord’s Place provided us with a wish list of useful items. The following basic household necessities were requested:
- Sheets/Comforters
- Towels (Face, hand & body)
- Soap
- Washing detergent
- Dish detergent
- Paper towels
- Toothpaste/toothbrushes
- Perfumes/fragrances
- Bath wash/gels
- Shaving cream
- Sponges
- Air Fresheners
- Lysol
- Feminine hygiene products
- Diapers
- Gift cards (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.)
The employee-furnished gifts collected will be donated to The Lord’s Place Engagement Center on Monday December 21, 2009. The Lord’s Place Engagement Center promotes a relaxing home-like environment for individuals and families operated during untraditional hours. It acts as a single “point of entry” so that the “visitors” can access community resources and receive community referrals. The innovative programming provides a hot meal, peer mentoring, and a resource center in a home-like atmosphere. The Engagement Center is open six days a week, Tuesday - Friday, 2pm - 6:30pm and on Saturdays from 8am - 1pm. Hot meals are served every evening from 4pm – 5pm and on Saturdays from 10am – 11am. Visit http://www.thelordsplace.org/ or call (561) 494-0125 for additional information.
