Florida Tax Collectors “Getting Back to Business”

Palm Beach County Tax Collector Anne Gannon hosted the Spring Executive Session of the Florida Tax Collectors Association in Delray Beach June 15-17. The conference theme, “Getting Back to Business”, served as the backdrop to allow tax collectors to remain on the cutting edge and shape the future direction of tax collection processes. FTCA members recapped the 2009 Legislative Session, attended small group break-outs to brainstorm legislative proposals/strategies for the 2010 Legislative Session and closed with a wrap-up session to share ideas. The tax collectors also heard reports from State-agency personnel providing an overview of important Rule changes. “The theme for this year, Getting Back to Business, highlights the importance of the business component of government, as we are in the midst of challenging economic times due to curtailed revenue” said Tax Collector Gannon.
