Palm Beach County’s “culture of corruption” has been perpetuated by a distinct few of our local elected officials and business people. Unfortunately, the decisions made by these individuals to use their public power for personal gain have tainted the reputation of local government as a whole and the business community. Before ethics became headlines, Tax Collector Gannon implemented measures beyond what the law allows to protect her office from questionable practices. This month’s newsletter includes information on our Ethics Initiatives, property tax discounts/exemptions, income tax preparation assistance and an update on our ongoing assistance to charitable organizations in our community.

 Ethics Initiative Rollout

Tax Collector Gannon is taking the Palm Beach County Ethics Pledge one step further, by asking every member of her staff sign the pledge.  On Wednesday, January 28, Tax Collector Gannon and Leadership Palm Beach County kicked-off the signing of their ethics policy.  Read more>

Property Tax Discounts, Address Change and Exemption Information

February is the last month to receive a discount (1%) on early payment of property taxes. No discounts are allowed in March and taxes become delinquent on April 1. To ensure that your payment is processed efficiently, please follow these guidelines when submitting your property tax payment. Read more>

The 2009 Federal income tax season is here! Since 2004, United Way of Palm Beach County and its partners are providing free income tax preparation services through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). Read more>
