Important Information about Hunting and Fishing Permits:

Beginning July 1, 2010, the cost of the following licenses will increase:
Turkey permits increase from $5 to $10 for Florida residents;
increase from $100 to $125 for non-Florida residents,
Florida waterfowl permits increase from $3 to $5,
Snook permits (saltwater fishing) increase from $2 to $10,
Lobster permits (saltwater fishing) increase from $2 to $5
A new deer permit will be required whenever hunting deer in Florida. The fee will be $5 and will not be available for purchase until July 1, 2010

- Telephone Number Requirement Beginning March 1
Effective March 1, 2010, a telephone number (10-digits including area code) will be required on hunting and fishing license and permit sales. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) are now requiring this information for the purpose of improving fish and wildlife harvest data. If a telephone number is not provided, a license cannot be issued.
- A telephone number will not be required on limited entry or quota permit transactions (i.e. special opportunity, recreational use, quota, alligator, etc).
- In 2008, the Office of the Tax Collector processed 2,600 Hunting and Fishing Licenses in Palm Beach County.
- Popular licenses may be obtained from subagents such as sport stores, bait and tackle shops, and some department stores.
- Licenses are annual and expire 12 months from the date of issuance.
- Lifetime and Senior citizen fishing licenses are available through the Tax Collector's Office only.
- Anyone born on or after June 1, 1975 must have passed an approved hunter education course before they can be licensed to take wildlife in Florida.
- An application for a disability fishing license may be obtained from your local Tax Collector’s Office and must be mailed to Tallahassee for issuance.
